In a recent development on Tuesday, President Donald Trump fired Christopher C. Krebs – Director of Homeland Security agency for not supporting the widespread electoral fraud theory being floated by Trump.

An announcement   to this effect was made by the President on his social media account on Twitter. He announced that this was directly related to Krebs’ statement wherein he mentioned that there was no evidence of any irregularities in the voting system. He said that there was no evidence that the voting was either compromised or the voting system had changed, lost or deleted any votes.

Trump maintained his vehement stand on Twitter and said that the 2020 election had high inaccuracy, and there were massive frauds and improprieties.  Twitter flagged these tweets as disputed.

Trump linked Krebs’s dismissal to his refusal to support Trump’s voting fraud theories and terminated him with immediate effect.

It was reported by CNN that this termination did not come as a surprise for Krebs as he was expecting it. He said he was aware that he would get into trouble for telling the truth. Krebs was in charge of the cyber arm of the Department of Homeland Security.

Knowledge about his dismissal came to him from The President’s tweet. Kreb took to Twitter to respond to this by tweeting that he was honoured to serve and he did it right. He went on to add that he would defend today and secure Tomorrow.

Matt Travis CISA Deputy Director and the official No 2 at the agency, resigned following this dismissal, making it clear that he would not take charge at the CISA.

The Chief of CISA staff Emily Early informed that Krebs’ last day with the agency would be Tuesday.

The firing of Kreb goes to show the lengths that President Trump is willing to go to and show his displeasure towards those who do not support his election conspiracy theory.
