Covid complications claim yet another life – Editor Ajay Sharma of Jagga Jasoos fame

Young editor Ajay Sharma who was known for his work in films like “Ludo “and “Jagga Jasoos’’ was only in his late 30’s. He succumbed to COVID -19 complications and passed away today. He was admitted to a government hospital in New Delhi. He was in the ICU of the Rajiv Gandhi Super specialty hospital, New Delhi for the past two weeks. Sources close to the editor say that he died between 1 – 2 a.m on Wednesday morning.

He leaves behind his wife and his four-year-old son. He had worked as an associate editor in films like “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’’ “Kai Po Che’’ and “Barfi.” He then went on to work as an editor in films like “Karwaan” “Bandish Bandits’’ the series that released in 2020. His debut directorial venture was “Jolly 1995.” His project in the offing was a sports drama titled “Rashmi Rocket “with Tapsee Pannu in the star cast.

The Bollywood fraternity expressed their shock and sorrow at his sudden demise through their social media accounts. Condolence messages came pouring in.  Shriya Pilgaonkar actor was completely devastated on hearing this news.

Anand Tiwari who is an actor-director also wrote a touching message and said he was in deep shock. He mentioned that there was so much to be done together still. He recalled how the two of them had spent a lot of time together in dark and small rooms during the “Bandish Bandits’’days. He went on to say that it could not have been done without Sharma and his hard work.

Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani too expressed deep regret and sorrow at Sharma’s passing away. Akarsh Khurana who worked as a director with Sharma in films like “Karwaan” and “Rashmi Rocket’’ also expressed his deep sorrow.
