Producer Ronnie Screwvala and Director Aditya Dhar have come together once again after Uri: The Surgical Strike, to create The Immortal Ashwatthama. As is clear for those well versed with Indian mythology the title is drawn from history. The title refers to the epic Mahabharata. This modern-day film is based on a modern superhero that has roots in the mythological character of King Ashwatthama from Mahabharata. The producer and director have cast their Uri hero Vicky Kaushal in this film. The female lead opposite Vicky Kaushal is Sara Ali Khan. It is rumored that a two-year preparation has been underway for this film which will supposedly be among the costliest Hindi films. The two lead actors to Vicky and Sara have been preparing for their roles for a few months now and learning different types of action.

The five-month shooting schedule will kick off in September this and after completion of the shoot next year, the rest of the time will be spent post-production till the release.

The initial plan of shooting overseas in European countries has now taken a revisit owing to the current state of the pandemic. There is a lot of uncertainty with International travel, and the flight, accommodation plus mandatory permissions which have all taken a new shape. The film is planned for shoots in Iceland, the USA, and India.

Once it goes on the floors in September the other schedules will also be lined up. The actors would have also completed their training for action sequences and the other formalities too will be complied for the International shooting and travel. If the success of Uri The Surgical strike is to go by, then will this too be a promising film?  The audience will have to wait till 2023 to find out!
