Lil Wayne Mourns Louisiana Cop Who Saved His Life As A Kid: Lil Wayne is now grieving the loss of Robert Hoobler, often known as “Uncle Bob,” a police officer who prevented Lil Wayne, then 12 years old, from ending his life after Wayne attempted suicide.

On Monday, Weezy took to Instagram to share the tragic news with his followers, writing, “RIP uncle Bob. Aunt Kathie has been looking forward to seeing you.

The family Bob has reportedly stated that they discovered his body on Friday inside of his residence. The former police officer in New Orleans was a double amputee, and his colleagues in law enforcement have always spoken highly of Bob.

When Wayne carried out his suicide attempt by shooting himself in the chest, he was the officer who responded to the scene. Bob has always been attributed in Wayne’s mind with not only responding to the emergency but also saving him after he arrived on the scene.

In August of 2021, Bob gave an interview to TMZ in which he stated that Wayne had extended an offer of financial help to him for the rest of his life, should he ever require it.

Wayne had previously believed that Uncle Bob had already passed away; he rapped about it in the song “London Roads” that was released in 2015; nevertheless, he was still alive, got in touch with Weezy, and the two of them restored their connection.
