The 2023 Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum will take place in Beijing on October 19. “For a Brighter Shared Future: Strengthening Media Cooperation” is the theme of the 2023 forum. The Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum 2023 is hosted in Beijing. The forum was attended by more than 130 foreign media executives, senior editors, and journalists representing more than 110 media entities across 75 BRI partner countries.
Xi Jinping, the president of China, introduced the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in the autumn of 2013. It has undergone a monumental transformation from a vision to a reality and from a broad framework to concrete initiatives over the course of the last decade, thanks to the collaborative efforts of all involved parties.

The BRI possesses substantial practical importance due to its consistent advancement and long-term sustainability. For the participating nations, it has mapped out a course toward peace, prosperity, opening-up, sustainable development, innovation, and civilization.
Both Chinese and foreign participants at the forum expressed the view that it would be beneficial for media organizations from different nations to work together in documenting the development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), promoting global security, and facilitating greater exchanges and mutual understanding.
The event also includes the Silk Road Prize for Global News and a sub-forum devoted to regional cooperation within the BRI, in addition to the main forum. Representatives from pertinent ministries and commissions of the Chinese central government, prominent media organizations, academicians, and state-owned and private enterprises participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) were in attendance at the event.
Since its inception in 2014, the forum, which is hosted by the People’s Daily, has garnered the attendance of more than 1,000 delegates representing international organizations and media outlets from more than 100 countries. The objective of the forum is to facilitate agreement and consolidate combined capabilities in order to advance the BRI’s high-quality development.
