    We keep hearing many things on boosting our immunity to counter the ongoing pandemic. It is a known fact that having a good immune system helps you battle the virus and increases your chances of survival and longevity in case you do get affected by this deadly virus. Good exercise, meditation, yoga, stress-free life, positivity all have their role in leading you towards a healthy and positive life, but what about foods? Is there some food that can actually cure you of COVID-19?

    A healthy balanced diet will be beneficial for all. There are certain immunity-boosting foods that all of us must try and include in our diets.

    Citrus foods – These are high in Vitamin C and adding it to your meal daily will be very beneficial. These include – grapefruit, oranges, lemons, lime, tangerines, clementines, etc. the daily recommended amount for women is 75 mg and for men 90 mg. Vitamin C is effective in aiding recovery from the common cold, flu, etc. it was also said to be effective against SARS COV 2 or the new coronavirus.

    Which foods can cure you of COVID -19?

    Garlic – This apart from adding a tanginess to your food has immense health benefits. It helps fight infection and has immunity-boosting properties. 

    Ginger – Helps with a sore throat, nausea, helps in decreasing chronic pain, and even has cholesterol-lowering properties.

    Spinach – Is packed with numerous antioxidants, beta carotene, and Vitamin C.

    Yogurt – Great source of Vitamin D, boosts body’s natural defenses.

    Almonds – Rich source of Vitamin E and healthy fats.

    Sunflower seeds – Full of nutrients, they have phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin E, and B-6.

    Turmeric – Anti-inflammatory properties and immense health benefits.

    Green Tea – Good source of amino acid, L- theanine,  and packed with flavonoids that is a type of antioxidant.

    There are many foods that can boost your immune system including the ones mentioned above but do remember:

    There are no foods that can cure you of COVID-19, it is only social distancing, wearing masks, building up your immune system, practicing proper hygiene, and hand sanitization that can protect you against the dreaded virus. Go ahead and observe the proper COVID – 19 protocols. Be responsible, and protect yourself and others!
