Tuesday at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium, Manchester City defeated Urawa Red Diamonds 3-0 to advance to the Club World Cup final against Brazilian side Fluminense. City advance to the Club World Cup final.
During the first half, European champions City were held back by a well-organized Japanese opponent. However, in stoppage time, City grabbed the lead through an own goal scored by Marius Hoibraten.

Mateo Kovacic scored his first goal since joining City from Chelsea in the 52nd minute, and a few minutes later, Bernardo Silva’s deflected strike ensured City would cruise through the remainder of the match.
City, which had only won three of their previous eight games across all competitions, are attempting to join Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea as the fourth English club to win the championship.
They will enter the final on Friday as significant favorites against the Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense, who defeated Egypt’s Al-Ahly 2-0 on Monday.
“The players are aware of its significance to the club,” Pep Guardiola, the coach of City, stated.
“To advance to this final, one must accomplish extraordinary feats, such as winning the Champions League.” We might only be able to play this once more in our lifetimes. “Although we are not required to complete the circle, we will strive to win the title.”
