Bhediya as the name suggests translates to wolf and is an upcoming film in 2022. It is in the comedy-horror genre. The film is directed by Amar Kaushik. Bhediya has been produced by Dinesh Vijan. The star cast has names like – Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee, Deepak Dobriyal, Paalin Kabak and others.
Commenting on his experience of working in the film, actor Varun Dhawan said that it was an extraordinary experience. Producer, Dinesh Vijan is known for churning out successful films in the horror-comedy genre. The film Stree starring Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, Roohi featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma, also belong to this category.
The film commenced its shoot in Arunachal Pradesh in March 2021. Jio Studios and Maddock Films are presenting this film. Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon had shared pictures from the location of the shooting in Arunachal Pradesh, on their social media. The location was mentioned as Ziro in their posts.
The writer Niren Bhatt has mentioned though that even if the name sounds like it, it is not a werewolf movie. Niren has also written Bala and Made in China.
Earlier in March, when the shooting had commenced, fans of Varun Dhawan had created a lot of disturbance and were yelling and shouting. Varun had to climb on top of a car and address them and request them to allow the shooting to progress. He said that they were there for quite some time and he would definitely meet and talk to them. His fans had taken this very well and the shooting had progressed then.
Earlier, Kriti Sanon and Varun have worked together in Dilwale.
Bhediya has been scheduled for release in theatres on the 14th of April.
