LeBron James criticizes the media for not contacting him about Jerry Jones. On Wednesday, LeBron James used the occasion to criticize the media for not asking him any questions about the recent controversy surrounding Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, and suggested it may have been racial in nature.

James, a superstar forward, questioned the media after the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 128-109 thanks to his 31 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. James asked why no one had questioned him about Jones and the recently discovered photo of Jones as a teenager working with students to keep an Arkansas school segregated in 1957.

“Before you guys leave, I have a question for you guys. When I was en route here, I wondered why I hadn’t received a question from you guys regarding the Jerry Jones photo “via ESPN, James enquired. But when the Kyrie [Irving] situation was active, you guys approached us with inquiries about it.

James and Kyrie Irving worked together while playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. James and the Cavaliers won their third NBA title in 2016 after Irving’s game-winning shot over the Golden State Warriors. The two’s time together came to an unfriendly end.

When Irving tweeted a link to an antisemitic movie, James claimed Irving “caused harm.”

Last week, a story in The Washington Post criticized Jones for the image. He was among the group of White students who were blocking six Black students from entering North Little Rock High School. The incident happened only a few weeks before the Little Rock Nine, who attended a school less than five miles away, integrated Little Rock Central High School, marking one of the most significant moments in the civil rights movement.

Jones has admitted that he is in the picture, but he claims that he did not take part in the anti-integration protests and simply observed them curiously and without hostility.

The Jerry Jones photo is one of those moments that our people, Black people in America, have experienced, James said. “When I watch Kyrie talk and he says, ‘I know who I am, but I want to keep the same energy when we’re talking about my people and the things that we’ve been through,'” James said. And I feel that because I’m a Black man, a Black athlete, and a person with influence and a platform when we do something wrong or something that the public doesn’t like, it’s reported in every tabloid and on every newscast’s bottom ticker. Every day, questions about it are raised.

“But it appears to me that the entire Jerry Jones situation, photo — even though I know it was many years ago and we all make mistakes, I get it — has simply been buried under the phrase “Oh, it happened.” Okay, let’s continue. And I was just a little disappointed that you guys hadn’t asked me that question.”

Jones told The Washington Post that he attended the event because he was “curious” about it, but he didn’t think anyone else knew what was involved or had any prior knowledge of it.

James was a well-known Cowboys supporter, but in October he claimed he had stopped because of the team’s stance on taking a knee for the national anthem.

James remarked, “There was just a lot going on when guys were kneeling, and guys were having freedom of speech.” “They aimed to carry it out quietly and without incident. If you behave that way around here, you won’t ever play for this franchise again, many people in their front office and among those who ran the organization said. And that just didn’t seem right to me.”
