You can place another mail order for free COVID tests. On Thursday, Americans can request four more free COVID-19 tests via mail. The Biden administration is implementing it to address a rise in COVID cases brought on by indoor holiday gatherings.
A senior administration official told reporters on a conference call that the tests can be ordered on COVIDtests.gov and will start shipping on December 19. The government advises people to self-test when experiencing symptoms and before seeing family.
This year’s free rapid testing is in its fourth round. When Congress rejected requests for additional funding for the program, the White House announced in September that it would be unable to send out more kits. However, the official claimed that the administration moved money to purchase more tests for the national stockpile.

The official spoke anonymously: “We know that the virus will circulate more quickly and easily as people gather indoors for the winter holiday season.” After Thanksgiving, officials noticed an increase in cases, and they predict that there may be another after the December holiday festivities.
Additionally, tests are accessible through Medicare, food banks, schools, and community testing centers. Private health insurance holders are eligible for full reimbursement for up to eight monthly tests.
The federal government is making an effort to make it simpler for Americans to receive COVID treatments like Paxlovid, tests, and vaccinations during the winter. It is staging supplies like ventilators and personal protective equipment and wants to help states set up mobile and pop-up vaccination sites.
The government wants to work to vaccinate residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities with the most recent booster shot and to treat those who contract the virus with Paxlovid.
