Ozzy Osbourne has called it quits on traveling canceling all upcoming shows. Ozzy Osbourne has stated that his touring career is made since he “is not physically capable (of it)” of performing anymore. He also announced the cancellation of his next gigs.
The musician, who is now 74 years old, explained in a statement made public on Wednesday that he was involved in a significant accident four years ago that caused him to sustain spinal injuries and that he is unable to do the required traveling for a tour physically.
“Getting back on stage has been my only objective during this entire process,” he explained. “There’s nothing wrong with my singing voice. My body is still physically weak, even though I have undergone three operations, stem cell therapies, countless hours of physical therapy, and most recently, a ground-breaking Cybernetics (HAL) Treatment.
Ozzy Osbourne won Grammy Awards throughout his career, which began while he was a member of the ground-breaking heavy metal band Black Sabbath. After leaving the band in 1978, Osbourne won Grammy Awards for his solo work and as part of the band.
Osbourne remarked on Wednesday, when he canceled the tour, that he was “honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently hung onto your tickets for all this time.” Osbourne had postponed his 2019 tour to recover from the initial spinal injury.
He would kick off his final tour of Europe and the UK in Helsinki, Finland, in May.
The heavy metal legend has been plagued by a string of health problems in recent years, including the disclosure that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in January 2020, acquiring Covid-19 in April 2022, and needing surgery two months after that.
Osbourne continued by saying that his team is “now coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to go from city to city and nation to country.”
At the end of the speech, he expressed gratitude to his family, band, crew, longstanding friends, Judas Priest, and fans “for their endless commitment, loyalty, and support, and for providing me the life I never dreamt that I would have.”
