The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6, Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement. “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service,” the palace stated. It has been decided that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will continue their vacation in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

It was only until this point that it was known whether King Charles’ younger son or any family members would attend the ceremony scheduled in Westminster Abbey in London on May 6. The pair disclosed that they had received an email regarding the coronation in March, but they chose not to say whether or not they would participate in the event at that time.

The couple revealed in March that they had been ordered “to depart” their property in the United Kingdom, Frogmore Cottage, which was gifted to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II and is located on the grounds of Windsor Castle. The home was granted to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Since Prince Harry is no longer considered a “working royal,” it is currently unknown what role he will have in the ceremony to crown the new monarch.
