A baseball player from Texas was shot while playing a game. A bullet injured a baseball player for Texas A&M University-Texarkana fired accidentally during a match on Saturday evening and was sent to the hospital.
On Saturday evening, according to the Texarkana Texas Police Department, officers were dispatched to a shooting in a neighborhood close to Spring Lake Park. A short while later, law enforcement was sent to the park in response to reports of a possible shooting involving a baseball player.

When police officers arrived at George Dobson Field, they learned that the baseball player, who was 18 years old, had been standing in the bullpen when a stray gunshot hit him.
“The shots came from a neighborhood to the west of Spring Lake Park and was the result of some type of disturbance that happened there,” revealed Shawn Vaughn, the public information officer with the department. “The neighborhood was to the west of Spring Lake Park.” The victim was wounded by the gunshot when standing close to the bullpen area of the baseball field in the park. The bullet had traveled several hundred feet to reach its target. He was not the intended target of the gunshot, nor was there any connection between the incident and the activities that were taken on in the park. Because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, a terrible accident occurred.
The individual was transported by emergency personnel to a local hospital and subsequently underwent surgery. The Texarkana, Texas Police Department updated on Sunday that the man’s status has remained unchanged.
According to statements made by the police on Sunday, they suspect two guys had been firing at each other outside a property near the park. Both men suspected of fleeing the scene before police officers arrived have had warrants issued for their arrest.
Three additional males who were present at the residence were taken into custody.
The Texas A&M University–Kingsville athletics department announced via a post on Twitter that the baseball game scheduled to take place on Saturday against the University of Houston–Victoria had been ruled a “no contest” by the Red River Athletic Conference. The game was supposed to serve as the regular season’s finale. A doubleheader of softball was also called off due to the weather.
