Ramaphosa says, “My discussions with the two leaders [Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky] demonstrated that they are both ready to receive the African leaders,” which is what Ramaphosa said.
According to RIA Novosti, he stated that the plan had the support of the leaders of Zambia, Senegal, Congo, Uganda, Egypt, and South Africa. This information was obtained from the Russian state-run news agency.
Reuters quoted Ramaphosa as adding that the African plan has been discussed with the United Nations Secretary-General, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
In addition, Ramaphosa mentioned that Washington and London provided “cautious” assistance.
The purpose of the visit by the African missions, which Ramaphosa told AFP would take place “as soon as possible,” is to “discuss how this conflict can be brought to an end.”
Ramaphosa has stated that the outcomes of the upcoming conversations will determine whether the endeavor is successful.
The leader of South Africa has stated that his nation takes no side in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
