17-Year-Old Nigerian-American Girl Astonished Everyone with Her Acceptance Letters from 8 Ivy League Universities

A 17-year-old Nigerian-American teen has opted for Harvard University after completing her graduation from Miami Beach Senior High School. 17-year-old Ashley Adirika is one of the few students who got selected by 8 Ivy League Universities at such a young age.

Nigerian-American Ashley would travel to her high school by public bus, and the school was two hours away from her house. It is the fruit of hard work, perseverance, and determination that she is getting now in the form of acceptance letters from 8 Ivy League Universities.

Sharing her views about all those tiring years and hardships that she has bear, she became emotional and felt proud of what she had achieved through sheer determination. She told the local newspaper,

“It was surreal. It felt amazing to know the work that I put into my educational journey was paying off and to see [colleges] recognize that.”

Her 7th grade English and art teacher motivated her to become a member of the debate society as she has been blessed with phenomenal confidence and the religiously incredible tone required to make a speech a big success. Talking to a local newspaper, her art teacher, Bess Rodriguez, proclaimed,  The Future of Science: Will it be Dominated by Exact Scientists?

“Everybody knew Ashley because of how smart she was. She had test scores through the roof; she’s involved in all different activities. So I recruited her, and she had never debated before.”

A 17-year-old teen student unwrapped the acceptance letter alongside her elder sister named Tracy Adirika, who had given up on her childhood dreams to take their custody and become their guardian.

Wishing her good luck! More prayers and power to her!
