A Vatican spokesperson has confirmed that Pope Francis is running a fever. A spokeswoman for the Vatican confirmed that Pope Francis called off meetings on Friday morning because he was running a temperature.
According to Matteo Bruni, director of the Holy See Press Office, who spoke to CNA about the situation, “Due to a feverish condition, Pope Francis did not receive [anyone] in the audience this morning.”

According to the calendar maintained by the Vatican as of the middle of Friday, the Pope has no public engagements planned for the 27th of May.
