Rhea Chakraborty had been caught in the eye of a big controversy after the alleged suicide/ mysterious death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Subjected to trolling on social media, hate and threat messages and even being jailed, life has been very difficult for Rhea ever since Sushant’s death. After her meteoric rise on social media for all the wrong reasons, where she was being blamed for his death by abetting suicide, to swindling money to giving him drug overdoses, to drug pedaling, Rhea has been accused of being party to his death, both directly and indirectly.
Rhea had in the past couple of months been maintaining a low profile and keeping herself away from the public eye. After her social media and public appearance hiatus, she started posting on her Instagram handle, March onwards. Her post on Mother’s Day was a picture of her clasping her mother’s hand and she captioned it mentioning how her mother was her strength and faith. The post that followed this one also shared a profound thought of how love is power and how love survives adversity and grief. Her latest post 5 days ago shows her reading Rabindranath Tagore’s Gitanjali. She has hashtagged it #Keepingthe faith. Rhea has 2.7 million followers on her Instagram account.
Today Rhea was snapped at the airport wearing a summery light outfit – a light green kurta with Luckhnawai work on it. It was heartening to note that she was wearing a face shield and a mask, following all COVID protocols.
For those of you who are wondering why she was leaving town let us dispel all your doubts by informing you that it was not linked with the Sushant Singh case or drug peddling case. In fact, she and her brother Showik Chakraborty were recently seen at the NCB office in connection with the drug case in which the brother-sister duo has been implicated.
Her departure from Mumbai we have learned through reliable sources was related to the postponement of Rumi Jaffrey’s “Chehre” in which she stars and that was due for release on 9th April 2021 and has now been postponed due to the surge in COVID cases in the country and specifically in Maharashtra.
