Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar are coming together for the second time. This time they will star in the upcoming movie Oh My God – 2. The pre-production work has already commenced. This involves choosing the shoot locales, designing the sets, and much more. A two-month shooting schedule for the film will begin in September.
The shooting for this was to begin earlier, but due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the shooting plans got shelved. Industry sources have revealed that Paresh Rawal is not a part of the sequel. Pankaj Tripathi will be cast along with Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Akshay and Pankaj have worked together in Bachchan Pandey which had been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It has been directed by Farhad Samji. Pankaj and Akshay it is said shared a good rapport on the sets while shooting Bachchan Pandey. Akshay will be co-producing OMG 2 with Ashwin Varde.
The Oh My God Movie released in 2012 was a satirical drama in the comedy genre. When an earthquake destroys Kanji Lalji Mehta (played by Paresh Rawal) the lead character’s antique shop he decides to sue God for it. Kanji is an atheist. Lord Krishna steps in to assist him in this lawsuit and along the way, a lot of corruption is exposed. The star cast had Paresh Rawal, Mithun Chakraborty, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Om Puri along with others. The box office earnings of the movie show a figure of 1.22 billion rupees.
Akshay Kumar is a very busy star and is currently involved with the shoot of Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan and many other projects. It is said that he has at least 11 new projects up his sleeve.
The actor had been afflicted by the deadly COVID-19 disease but has recovered fully since then.
