Alaska Airlines will reimburse health travel costs after the abortion ruling: June 24 (Reuters) – On Friday, Alaska Airlines (ALK.N) announced that, despite a decision by the United States Supreme Court regarding abortion, the company will continue to cover employee travel expenditures for certain medical procedures and treatments if they are not accessible in the employee’s home location.
There is a growing trend among businesses to foot the bill for their staff members in order to have access to reproductive health services in places where those procedures are illegal. Alaska Airlines claimed it is “reimbursement of travel expenses for certain medical procedures and treatments in the event that they are not offered in the individual’s home location. The ruling made by the Supreme Court today does not affect that.”
