Apple's New Exclusive Reveals Irrationally Anticipated iPhone 15 Launch.

Apple’s New Exclusive Reveals Irrationally Anticipated iPhone 15 Launch. Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities, disclosed several improvements to the iPhone 15 Pro, but the significant boost to the iPhone 15 camera is the real shocker.

In a research note obtained by MacRumors, analyst Ming-Chi Pu reiterates several rumors about the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max (possibly renamed ‘Ultra’): a titanium chassis with solid-state volume buttons; a 3nm A17 chip, a Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 modem; a USB-C port; and an increase in RAM from 6GB to 8GB.

Pu claims that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will upgrade to a 48-megapixel primary camera, just like the iPhone 14 Pro models, which is a significant surprise.

Pu claims that, like its Pro forerunners, this will have a three-staked sensor, which is a big surprise given the higher price tag compared to Apple’s tried-and-true 12-megapixel sensors. The USB-C port, which was previously assumed to be exclusive to the iPhone Pro, will make its way into the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, according to Pu.

The lack of a telephoto lens and the use of a generation-old chipset (in this case, the A16 of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max) are the only surprises Pu has revealed about the upcoming iPhone 15.

Additional information on the iPhone 15 lineup has been leaked by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in the newest issue of his Power On newsletter, published on January 9th, and supported by information from other, lesser leakers.

While the pill cutout and Dynamic Island may now be standard across the range, Gurman says he still anticipates a design overhaul for the basic iPhone 15 models. Moreover, this is intriguing for the following reasons: Dynamic Island’s popularity can be attributed partly to the game’s fluidity, enhanced by a high refresh rate screen.

Although substantially cheaper Android rivals have extensively adopted it for some time, ProMotion has until now been an exclusive Pro feature. When the iPhone 15 is released, will the regular models receive display upgrades?

In addition, Gurman confirms rumors that all iPhone 15 models will transition from Lightning to USB-C and that the iPhone 15 Pro will include a titanium frame (as reported by LeaksApplePro in October) and solid-state haptic volume buttons (ShrimpApplePro in October).

As of 01/10, excitement is growing around the upcoming redesign of Apple’s iPhone 15 series. The Elec has obtained a supply chain report claiming, “Apple has verified that it will implement their Dynamic Island camera window to all four iPhone 15 series set to arrive in September.”

According to the source, Samsung Display’s Vietnam plant has placed an order with Phil Optics for the necessary equipment to begin mass-producing this design. As Apple seeks to lessen its reliance on Samsung, LG and BOE, have increased their pressure on Samsung over the past year.

According to the rumor, Apple is developing a significant update to the iPhone’s display technology called “Under Panel Face ID,” which it plans to debut in 2018 alongside the iPhone 16. Its moniker suggests that Apple could use it to conceal the Face ID cutout. A pill-shaped opening would be reduced by half, making more room for Dynamic Island.

Apple has been developing optics for use beneath displays for some time. Apple’s ‘Under Panel Camera’ (UPC) patent applications date back to 2019, and the company applied for an extension in August 2021.

Under-display front cameras are available on several Android phones, most notably the Galaxy Fold 4, but they come at a hefty performance cost. This is probably a deal-breaker for Apple, which is well-known for waiting to release new technology until it considers it ready.

This year, Apple must find a middle ground. Despite weak demand for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, the latest rumor indicates Apple will not lower prices for the next iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Instead, demand is being stoked by widening the price difference between the regular and Pro variants of the iPhone 15 by boosting the price of the Pro and Ultra editions.

Apple needs to nail the value proposition for this gamble. The basic iPhone 15 models will benefit significantly from a 48-megapixel sensor and USB-C. But it’s time for a redesign, too.
