Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has been constantly plagued by a few netizens. He has been subjected to criticism and abuse for not doing enough for the COVID affected in these trying times. This was made public by the actor himself when he declared in his blog that although he felt embarrassed, there was no other alternative left to him but to put down all his charitable activities for the public to see and review on his blog. He expressed how distraught he was at receiving distasteful comments and was disturbed by people pointing an accusing finger at him even after he had done his bit. The negative comments for celebrities have increased during the second wave of COVID -19 which has been extremely disastrous claiming millions of lives and affecting huge numbers. In his blog, he mentioned how he had paid off bank loans of farmers from his personal account to prevent them from committing suicide. He had even initiated transportation by train at his own expense of the farmers who could not be present for the formalities. He mentioned how last year, he had provided food for a month for the daily wage earners who were displaced during the lockdown and were in great need. He has also assisted with PPE kits, masks, etc for the front-line warriors through his personal funds.
This pandemic has brought out the humanitarian side of the common man and the celebrities alike, with people contributing in whatever way they can!
