Disney India is soon coming up with its own online store, says a new media report. The report says that the company’s own online store will be made available at ShopDisney.in.
Isn’t this an amazing piece of news that also during the wonderful occasion of Diwali? Well, the report says that the shopping website of Disney India will provide products from all of its largest brands such as Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and Disney.
However, there is no clarity right now if it will offer only what Disney India sells presently or it will expand to other products and services of Disney. Will the Indian-specific website match the standards delivered by the team at The ShopDisney.com? That only time can tell. As of now, there is no official confirmation from Disney India.
Currently, the merchandise of Disney is made available on various third-party platforms such as Ajio, Amazon, Bewakoof, FirstCry, Lifestyle, Max, Pantaloons, Reliance Digital, The Souled Store, and WYO.
The products of Disney are majorly restricted to clothing. It also has Reliance Digital (Disney-branded headphones) and First Cry (Disney-branded utensils, room décor, school supplies, and travel bags).
On a global scale, ShopDisney is a lot more widespread and offers action figures, jewelry, jigsaw puzzles, plush toys, ornaments, personalized gifts, playsets (Lego or otherwise), remote-controlled cars and trains, snowglobes, talking dolls, and watches, and many other more.
If you check out ShopDisney.in right now, you can see that there is a “coming soon” page. Although Disney seems to have missed the Diwali but looks like something big lined up. It means the company is planning something huge to launch with a lot of fanfare and enthusiasm in the Indian market. It would be interesting to see Disney as the first major Hollywood studio to sell its products directly to users in a large country like India.
