New shopping preferences of the customers during their stay at home imposed by the pandemic has proved beneficial for Walmart US Sales. The popular e – commerce platform recorded a 79% increase in its US sales in the third quarter. The pandemic has necessitated an online shopping norm and this is continuing.
In a recent news release, Doug McMillon, CEO –Walmart, said that he believed that this shopping behaviour would persist. He went on to add that Walmart was fully geared to serve its customers with the value and experience that they were looking for.
Walmart’s total revenue recorded a growth of 5.2% to $134.7 billion. The figure a year earlier was $128.0 billion. The new figure exceeded the Wall Street expectations of $132.2 billion.
