An official of Nangloi Market found the order to be incorrect as all the rules and safety measures were being followed systematically. The official also said that the seal on the basis of the crowd that came on the main road near the market was not their fault. However, the order to close the market has been taken back and they wait for the official copy of the order.
On Sunday, a senior official of the government had termed these two markets as unauthorized and the sealing was a temporary measure to ensure that people are aware of the existing coronavirus crisis in Delhi and hence, safety measures related to the pandemic get followed by more people. Both the markets had around 100 makeshift shops that sold goods from garments to kitchen vessels and hence, the immediate crackdown was required to set an example to others who were violating the coronavirus guidelines.

While the national capital, Delhi has reported 6,746 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, taking the total count of coronavirus cases in the state to 5,29,863, as per the Delhi health department on Sunday. The cumulative figure includes 4,81,260 recoveries and 40,212 active cases.
We hope that the people in the city take their lives more seriously and don’t risk it to a deadly virus like this one. Simple practical measures like keeping 6 feet away from other people, social distancing, washing hands regularly with soap water or using sanitizers, and wearing masks can save many lives if followed properly. People of Delhi, please wake up, become more responsible, and stay safe!
