DeMeco Ryans confirms C.J. Stroud will start for the Texans in Week One. C.J. Stroud, a first-year player for the Texans as quarterback, has been given the job permanently.

“C.J. will be our Week One starter for our game in Baltimore,” said Ryans.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise. Since the beginning of training camp and the beginning of the preseason, Stroud has been getting the majority of the work with the first-string offense. After all, the Texans didn’t draft him to sit on the bench all season. However, the Ryans had been reluctant up until this point to acknowledge their relationship publicly.
