Search-engine giant Google has launched two latest updates for Google Chat. Well, isn’t the occasion of Diwali a great opportunity for companies to introduce their new products or services or upgrades just to build a reputation among the existing and new users.
Now feel free to pin your Google Chat conversations on Gmail’s web app. Also, an interesting Calendar shortcut has been included in Google Chat. This makes it easier for users of Google Chat to use the app. These latest updates are available to Workspace (G Suite) customers.
So, where do you find these chat conversations? For the unaware, Google Chat conversations can be identified on the left side of Gmail’s web app. In this app, recent chats are listed on the top. Now Google Workspace users would be able to pin their conversations on the top, instead of the recent chats, so that they can access the important chats whenever they want to. The mind-blowing feature is also available for rooms in Google Chat.
How do you pin the chat? Well, just click on the three-dotted icon and select ‘Pin’ from the list. Your pinned conversations will be shown with the pin icon, which will also have the user’s name with whom the chat happened. As everyone would get busy scheduling their calendar for the upcoming months and in the New year, Google Chat has also upgraded itself with a Calendar shortcut.
Now you can access the Calendar shortcut from conversation’s compose bar in Google Chat. You can even click on the Calendar icon to create a new event schedule with the attendees of the chat. Luckily, the shortcut is also available on mobile, however, it can be accessed through the Calendar app.
The modern Google Chat innovations are open for Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education, and Nonprofits users.
