The festival marks the start of the Festival of Lights, Diwali, which is going to be celebrated on 14 November 2020 all over the country.The festival of Dhanteras occurs on Trayodashi Tithi (Thirteenth) of the Krishna Paksha of the Hindu lunar month of Kartik.
During the festival, people worship and offer their prayers to Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Dhanvantari, Lord Kubera (God of wealth), and Yamraj (God of Death).Many people also worship the Lord of Ayurveda called Dhanavantri as it is believed that Ayurveda is a boon to humanity to cure their illnesses and live healthily.
