In Ohio Josh Sills has been indicted on rape and kidnapping charges. According to the announcement made by the attorney general of Ohio on Wednesday, offensive lineman Josh Sills of the Philadelphia Eagles has been indicted on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping in the state of Ohio.

According to a news release issued by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Guernsey County Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden, Sills, 25 years old, has been indicted on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping. Both of these accusations are considered to be first-degree felonies.

The indictment is related to an event that occurred in December 2019. According to the allegations made by the authorities, Sills “took part in sexual behavior that was not consented to and held a victim against her will.” Following the prompt reporting of the alleged criminal activity, the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office opened an inquiry into the matter.

The indictment was handed out just a few days before the Super Bowl LVII matchup between the Eagles and the Patriots. Sills entered the league as a rookie in 2022 and appeared in one game during the regular season.

Fox News Digital attempted to contact the Eagles to get their take on the situation.

The Guernsey County Common Pleas Court has issued a summons requiring Sills to appear there on February 16 — four days after the Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled to play in the Super Bowl.

Sills, a multi-position player who plays both tackle and guard for the Eagles, was signed to the team as an undrafted free agent. His whole academic career was spent at Oklahoma State University. He was born in the Ohio town of Sarahsville.

During the Eagles’ game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5, Sills participated in only four snaps on special teams for the club. On Philadelphia’s depth chart, he is positioned to take over for Isaac Seumalo as the backup right guard.
