USA has been the worst hit in the number of COVID 19 cases ever since the pandemic engulfed the world. President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris have a strategy to cope with the pandemic. Biden mentioned that they would soon put their plan into action since the COVID 19 afflicted figures were concerning.
Donald Trump, however, refuses to concede defeat and his administration had mentioned the end of the pandemic as one of its accomplishments. However, there were a high number of cases last week and it is estimated by the University of Washington Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation model projects, that by the time Biden takes up office January 20, there will be more than 372,000 COVID 19 related deaths. This will be in excess of the current total by 135,000 more.
An emergency physician at Brown University Dr. Megan Ranney said on CNN that by the time the new administration takes over the virus would have already run rampant through all communities in the USA.
The campaign website of Biden has a pandemic plan mentioned. This plan has also been laid out on the Biden – Harris transition website that was published on this Sunday.
The transition team of Biden announced members of the advisory board led by former Surgeon General Dr.Vivek Murthy and other eminent personalities. It is also evident that Trump’s coronavirus task team is not withdrawing but both the task teams will be working together. It was been mentioned on CNN this Sunday, by the dean of the Brown University School of Public Health – Dr, Ashish Jha that it was crucial that both teams work together.
Biden’s plan with a new and different response to coronavirus lays emphasis on contact tracing and increased testing. He also mentions that all Americans will have access to reliable, free and regular testing. Along with these key initiatives it also lists out a host of other activities under its plan.
