The birth of a penguin chick was recently announced by staff members.
The child was born to parents Dassen and Ireland on October 3. The Tulsa Zoo’s involvement in the Association of Tulsa Zoos & Aquariums’ African Penguin Species Survival Plan includes the birth of the chick. The gender of the chick has not yet been disclosed. At birth, it weighed 60 grams.
