The pictures which have gone viral and are the talk of the town are the pictures of contestant Pawandeep Rajan, his father, and contestant Arunita Kanjilal and her father. The sets of Indian Idol have been abuzz with rumors of a romance brewing between Pawandeep and Arunita. It is said that Arunita gifted her father a trip to London to mark this special day. Pictures of Shanmukhapriya Nihal Tauro, Sawai Bhatt with their fathers have also surfaced on social media.
There are controversies associated with the show regarding, the celebrity guests who are invited. After Amit Kumar left to post the show that was a tribute to his late father the legendary Kishore Kumar, there was a lot of debate on the fact that Amit Kumar wanted to close the show due to the pathetic singing. He also apparently disclosed that he was asked to praise the contestants by the organizers to boost their morale, even though they were singing pathetically. Contestant Shanmukhapriya who has been praised by the judges for her ingenious way of singing has been mercilessly trolled on social media, with people wanting her eviction. There is no way of confirming whether the controversies have been planted or whether they are true, but the interest of the audience has increased and this has become one popular show.
