Popular TV Serial Wagle Ki Duniya slated for shooting in Silvassa

Producer J D Majethia has said that this popular serial will be shot in Silvassa amidst high safety precautions against COVID -19. The star cast includes Parvi Pranati, Sumeet Raghavan, veterans Anjan Srivastav, and Bharati Achrekar. Currently, in the new strict lockdown conditions, film and TV Shoots have been stalled.

It is said that Sumeet, Pariva, and a few others from the cast are already in Silvassa and very soon Bharati Achrekar and Anjan Srivastav will be joining them to start the shooting.

Producer Majethia calls the shooting arrangement a “big bubble.” With the alarming increase in COVID cases in Maharashtra, most of the serials have shifted their shooting base.

It is learned that Kumkum Bhagya, Apna Time Aayega, and Kundali Bhagya have chosen Goa as their safe haven. Jaipur is the chosen location for Teri Meri Ikk Jindri while another serial will be shot in Surat and so on.

The bio bubble mentioned will ensure that nobody from outside can come in and increase the risk of infections.

Wagle Ki Duniya has been a middle-class man’s journey and this popular Hindi serial was aired in DD National from the year 1988 – 1990. The characters in this serial were inspired by R.K Laxman’s depiction of the common man. Kundan Shah had directed this serial which had been produced by Durga Khote.

Actor Anjan Srivastav played the central character of Srinivas Wagle and Bharti Achrekar played Radhika Wagle. The nervous sales clerk Srinivas Wagle was an easily identifiable character and the audience loved this serial. The makers now see this as an opportune time to recreate the success of yesteryears of this serial and infuse a fresh appeal in it. Producer Majethia has requested the government to grant them permission for the shoot since this serial will go a long way in providing some comic relief and humor in these difficult and trying times.
