Aiming to provide growth opportunities for farmers, the Former MD &CEO of Yes Bank, Rana Kapoor, addressed various issues in the agricultural sector. He saw this as creating success for them that would last long. Rana Kapoor has shown how responsible corporates can give back to society. He has shown how companies can extend goodwill, and eventually work towards the upliftment and betterment of society.

The new normal and work during the pandemic have shown our dependence on digital technology. Rana Kapoor ventured to make the digital space with its latest tools and technologies accessible for the farmers as well. He worked towards empowering the farming community which is the backbone of our agricultural nation. Yes, the Bank under the able guidance of Rana Kapoor was the pioneer in adopting Blockchain technology. He went on to adopt it for the agricultural sector.  Blockchain data sharing networks can be utilized to tackle issues like food wastage, food fraud, etc. The previous one reaches up to 1 trillion US Dollars and the second touches nearly 40 billion dollars. The blockchain potential enhances the return on investment for the farmers and the producers.

 

In 2015, Rana Kapoor through Yes Bank collaborated with Food and Agribusiness Strategic Advisory and Research Group (FASAR) and IFCN Dairy Research Network in Germany and published a report on the Dairy industry. He recommended advancements in the dairy sector through the use of IoT, Big data, mobility technology, and the cloud. He also focused on the digital payment space offering the advantages of its transparency and quick payment system. Kapoor carried his innovation and entrepreneurial vision to all the schemes that he has recommended. He has been a key person in promoting Agri-eco tourism in Uttarakhand, India.
