Shahenshah ’ Amitabh Bachchan completes 52 years in Bollywood

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has traversed great ground in Bollywood. This tall lanky actor with unconventional looks who made his Bollywood debut with Saat Hindustani in 1969, rose to iconic stardom in the following years.  His super hit movies Anand, Zanjeer, Zameer, Sholay, Deewar, Kasme Vaade, Trishul, Don, and many others won him countless fans and followers. It was during the shooting of Coolie in 1983 that he got seriously injured on the sets. His fans and followers were anguished at this incident and nationwide and international prayers and good wishes poured in. Amitabh made a complete recovery and resumed work. 

He married costar Jaya Bhaduri rather early in his career and has two kids Shweta and Abhishek. He and his wife Jaya are doting grandparents too, of the children of daughter Shweta and son Abhishek. He has also worked with his daughter in law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

His personal life has been dotted with controversies. His name was dragged into the Bofors scandal although he was given a clean chit much later. His reputation suffered a big hit. His company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited that was operating in event management, production, and distribution became defunct and he became bankrupt.  At one time Amitabh was even contemplating selling off his bungalow Pratiksha and other apartments to clear his dues. That bad spell passed though and he returned to making money from the big screen as well as the small screen. 

His TV debut as the quiz master of “Kaun Banega Crorepati “met with stupendous success and a new season of the show is on the anvil soon. In his personal life, he has been linked with his female co-stars like Parveen Babi and Rekha. His love affair with Rekha has been much talked about and is still a matter of great interest for his fans and followers. Amitabh had suffered a bout of COVID -19 recently but has thankfully recovered has been shooting for the big and small screen once again. These 52 years have been a series of great highs and a few lows for the superstar but we wish that he continues to enthrall us with his wonderful performances for many more years to come!
