After the second wave of the pandemic hit the country, many State Governments imposed stricter restrictions and guidelines including the state of Maharashtra. The rise in COVID -19 cases saw all overseas film schedules getting canceled and even the local and national ones. It has been learned from reliable industry sources that the Maharashtra Government will permit the resumption of shoots post 15th of June 2021. Various film bodies are in touch with the government to take a favorable decision soon since there is a loss being incurred for producers and artists on this account. The Bollywood industry apart from being a source of livelihood for actors, producers and directors also employ a lot of artists including junior artists, technicians, and daily wage workers who total up to nearly 50,000 or more. They have been all out of jobs and struggling to meet the basic necessities of life. Directors and producers are already preparing for future shoots from their homes. The film bodies have been in talks with the government reassuring the officials that they will be following all the COVID-19 related protocols and will also ensure that the entire team of artists and all associated with them are vaccinated and safe.
