Actor Sonu Sood has been in the news for all the right reasons during the pandemic that has hit the world especially India recently. Whether it taking up the cause of migrant workers or other philanthropic activities, Sonu Sood has always stood tall and helped the needy. In his latest post on Instagram, he has narrated the condition of one helpless COVID afflicted victim for whom they struggled last night to get bed then struggled to get him ventilator support, but he lost his battle of life. He then told us how that was not the end of his struggles they could not find any crematorium free to cremate him. He enumerated how a common man’s arduous journey in these COVID plagued times, begins from house to finding a hospital then hospital bed then ventilator and oxygen and for those unfortunate people who die in all this struggle, the misery still does not end.
They do not even get a decent cremation. The crematoriums are overfull and any cremation costs a minimum of 15-2000 Rs. There are people who cannot afford it, and hence most of the people dying these days do not even get a decent cremation. Many have lost their fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, sisters, and other family members and friends who could not be cremated properly, either due to lack of space or availability in the crematoriums or shortage of funds. Sonu Sood has appealed with folded hands to all state governments to make cremations in all states free of charge and requested the government to foot the charges for the same.
In yet another post of his, he has appealed to the governments to make education free for all the needy children who have lost their parents to COVID – 19.
