The 6-year relationship between Taylor Swift and actor Joe Alwyn has ended. After six years of dating, Entertainment Tonight learned that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn had split. The breakup was mutually agreeable and “not dramatic.”

The singer, now 33 years old, is performing on her long-awaited “Eras” tour. ET claims that “why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any performances” is because her romance with the 32-year-old British actor “had just run its course.”

Despite reports that they met at the 2016 Met Gala, the couple has chosen to keep their romance under wraps. At the 2020 Golden Globes, where Swift was up for best original song for “Beautiful Ghosts” from “Cats,” the two were seen together for one a few times.

Alwyn’s film and TV credits include “The Favorite,” nominated for an Academy Award, and the Hulu adaptation of the novel “Conversations with Friends.”

After releasing her tenth studio album, “Midnights,” last year, Swift announced her “Eras” world tour, during which she will perform songs from her entire discography.

According to ET, Swift claimed on TikTok that Alwyn inspired the album track “Lavender Haze.” After hearing the term “Lavender Haze” in an episode of Mad Men, she decided to look it up since she thought it sounded cool. She was surprised to learn that the term was commonly used to describe being in love in the 1950s. For example, “If you were in the ‘Lavender Haze,’ it meant you were bathed in an all-pervasive love glow, which was lovely.”

She claimed that when you are in the “lavender haze” state of mind, you will do everything to maintain it. Throughout her six-year relationship, she and her partner have “had to avoid odd stories, tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it.” “This song is about looking the other way to safeguard what matters. I think you’ll enjoy it.”

Swift directed the “Lavender Haze” music video released earlier this year; she has made many of her music videos and is slated to direct a feature picture.

After announcing their release over the weekend, the name “Taylor” trended on Twitter and had amassed 362,000 tweets by Monday.
