The Weeknd’s Voice Failure Forces Him to Abandon Los Angeles Show, After only a few songs into the performance, the singer’s voice began to fail, which resulted in THE WEEKND being forced to prematurely cancel his show that was scheduled to take place on Saturday at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
The Weeknd stopped singing in the middle of “Can’t Feel My Face” and then left the stage immediately afterward. After that, he went backstage to tell the audience that he would have to cut short the event because it was already sold out.
“I wanted to personally come out and apologize to you people. Please accept my sincere apologies. I have no idea what just took place, but in the middle of yelling, I somehow managed to lose my voice. The Weeknd expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation, saying, “This is hurting me, I don’t want to stop the show, but I can’t give you the concert I want to give you.” “I’m going to make sure that everyone is okay, that you get your money back, and that I’ll do a show real soon for you guys, but before I do that, I wanted to come out and personally apologize instead of tweeting or posting about it on Instagram. I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m sorry but I can’t give you what it is that I really want to give you. I really do apologize.
In his addition, the musician who was born Abel Tesfaye said, “You know how much of a toll this takes on me.”
Additionally, The Weeknd posted on his social media accounts the following: “My voice went out during the first song, and I’m distraught. When I finally felt it leave, my heart sank. My sincere apologies to everybody who follows me on this platform. You have my word that I would try to make it up to you with a new date.”
Tesfaye was able to play the length of his show at SoFi Stadium on Friday night, which was the first of two concerts that were completely sold out at the Los Angeles venue.
The Weeknd is scheduled to perform again on September 22 and 23 at his hometown Rogers Center in Toronto. These shows are a pair of makeup dates for his After Hours Til Dawn tour-opening shows that were postponed due to power outages in the region. The Weeknd will have approximately two weeks to recover before his next scheduled performance there. A date for the rescheduled concert at SoFi Stadium has not yet been disclosed.
