In the global pandemic-ridden scenario of despair and gloom, there are a few happy events too that are brightening the horizon. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his fiancée Carrie Symonds sealed their bond by getting married in a low-key affair at Westminster Cathedral yesterday the 29th of May. A photograph released in the media from the wedding shows Carrie in a white lacy dress sans a veil, with flowers decorating her hair. Bridegroom Boris is dressed in contrast. He is looking dapper in a black suit and a flower on the lapel to complete his look. The wedding ceremony had only a few close friends and relatives attending. According to a Downing Street spokesperson, the couple will celebrate this wedding next summer with their friends and family.

The British Prime Minister has been married twice earlier. His first wife was Allegra Mostyn-Owen and his second wife was Marina Wheeler. Marina’s origin was Indian. Symonds gave birth to Johnson and her child – Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson in April last year. They had announced last year that they were engaged and Symonds was pregnant. Johnson is 56 and Symonds is a 33-year-old environmental advocate. From his previous marriages, Boris has 5 children. In 1822 Lord Liverpool was the last Prime Minister before Boris Johnson to have married while he was in office. Britain is following strict pandemic regulations and restrictions, hence not more than 30 people were to gather at a wedding. It is said that not even the senior staff at the 10, Downing Street office were aware of this wedding. The last week hasn’t been a happy one for the Prime Minister at work. He has been accused by former top aide Dominic Cummings of a shoddy response to the pandemic.
