With the mango season in and the succulent ripe mangoes inviting us to eat them who would resist their invitation? And it important not to try and resist it at all. However, there are a few precautions which must be kept in mind, regarding the DON’T’s of eating after you have consumed mangoes. 

So, what are they?

Curd

These two – curd and mango when combined create cold and heat in the body and this can be very harmful for our skin and several other problems.

Water

Consuming lots of water is often touted as a very good health practice having immense health benefits such as being good for the skin, digestion etc. The King of fruits – mango is loved for its nutrition, taste, flavour and fragrance. Having too much of mango however, leads to a stomach upset and a general feeling of being unwell. Do exercise caution while eating mangos. Water must be consumed after half an hour of eating mangos, as it can give rise to acidity and stomach aches.

Chillies and spicy food 

This can cause skin diseases and stomach upsets.

 

Cold / Fizzy drinks

This is also very harmful if consumed immediately after eating mangos. Mangos have a high sugar content and so do cold drinks. This can affect patients with high Bp much more adversely.

 

Bitter Gourd 

Consumption of Bitter Gourd immediately after eating mango can cause nausea, trouble in breathing and vomiting.

 

Including a healthy balanced meal in your day-to-day life is very essential. Seasonal fruits always have their charm but sometimes one tends to indulge in it and suffer stomach upsets or ill health. 

However, if one is cautious and knows what to avoid eating after a fruit like mango, then one is on the road to a good and well-balanced diet!
